There are four pillars of mental health and each of them need to be addressed. Lacking significantly in just one pillar will prevent healing and progress. Ideally, spend time working on each of these daily, even if just for a short time. The reason I call this "Mastery", implies that this is something that requires repetition and does not happen overnight. The effort will be worth every second though.

1. Mindset (Psychology)

Positive mindset

Your thoughts, believes and words determine your reality

Know  yourself: Who am I now?

Who do I want to be?

What is my identity?

I am ........(Positive affirmations)

Change your “I HAVE to……….”

Make it “I GET to…………”

2. Heart Set (Emotionally)

Recognize and validate emotions (like anger, fear, guilt, doubt, resentment). Use this link to find The Wheel of Emotions and help recognize your own emotions.

Emotions are natural and part of life, but we want to be in control of them and not have them control us.

Take time to explore emotions and if needed talk about them.

Validate negative emotions and in time replace them with positive emotions like love, gratitude, appreciation.

3. Health Set (Physicality)

  • MOVE WELL: Exercise daily (Gives a boost in mood, energy, focus)
  • EAT WELL: Diet (What you put in is what you get out), less Carbs
  • SLEEP WELL: Sleep hygiene (Time, quality, schedule), sleep health the brain.
  • LESS CELL: (phone). Technology and screen time (This can become an addiction and may trigger feelings of anxiety or lower self esteem)

4. Soul Set (Spirituality)

  • Solitude / quiet time alone
  • Gratitude  practises
  • Meditation / Mindfulness / Breathing
  • Practice being in the moment (present)
  • Religion / prayer
  • Meditation apps: Insight timer, Smiling Mind, etc.
