Responsibility accepted (Admit to yourself and others. Get out of denial)

Emotions need to be recognized  and processed (Forgive yourself and others, process guilt, shame, anger, resentment), then

Evaluate your tools/assets (what or who do I have going for me? Who can help?)

Assess possible options and outcomes (don’t rush in without considering the consequences)

Choose and Communicate (pick your plan and verbalize it to your team/family/partner)

Take action (Execute the plan. Imperfect action is better than Inaction)

Celebrate your success/accomplishment

The “DON'TS” in dealing with stress (avoid the victim mindset)

  • Don't keep living in the past
  • Don't focus on what you have lost
  • Don’t look for others to blame
  • Don’t keep complaining
  • Don't put on a blindfold to keep the light (hope/good) out
  • Don't keep procrastinating
  • Don't look for problems that may not exist
  • Don't give up
